**Deli Specialist - Prep Cook**

**Job Overview**:The Deli Specialist prep-cook is responsible for opening the kitchen, preparing, and managing specific deli items for both the catering operations and the restaurant at Boy with a Knife. This role focuses on ensuring deli products' quality, consistency, and availability throughout the day while prepping for the following day’s needs. As a kitchen team member, this individual plays a critical role in maintaining food safety efficiency and upholding company standards under the supervision of the Head Chef.

**Reports To**:Head Chef **Key Responsibilities**:

- Open the kitchen daily and ensure readiness for operations.
- Prepared and maintained deli items for both catering orders and in-house needs.
- Ensure all food items are prepared and stored according to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless operations and high-quality output for the day.
- Accurately track inventory levels of deli-specific items, notifying the Head Chef of relevant staff when orders are required.
- Assist with prepping ingredients for the following day’s deli and catering requirements, ensuring efficiency and minimizing waste.
- Followed and maintained recipes and product standards for consistency across catering and in-house offerings.
- Ensure timely preparation of deli items to meet daily production schedules.
- Work with the Corporate Catering Manager to ensure client details are addressed and executed against.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following all cleanliness and sanitation guidelines.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or food production environment.
- Ability to work early morning shifts and maintain punctuality is required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of food safety and handling practices, including certification.
- Food safe certificate, serving it right, and first aid.

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
