Within the Ministry of Finance, the Receivables Management Office (RMO) provides provincial leadership of receivables management, maximizing collections of accounts and loans receivable needed to ensure the government of British Columbia has the resources required to fund public services. The RMO serves citizens and upholds the division’s mandate through taxpayer education, improving service to our clients, resolving collection and compliance problems, creating alternative payment arrangements, and validating overpayments on accounts in a respectable, fair, consistent, and timely manner.

The StudentAid BC Finance and Governance (SABC-FIN) is one of the teams within the RMO which specializes in the disbursement, administration, and collection of student loans in partnership with service providers, ministries, and the federal government.

The Financial Analyst will be an important part of the SABC-FIN team and will be involved in numerous facets of the program including creating and analyzing financial statements and reports, working alongside the program’s team members and partners, supporting expense forecasting and management, and assisting in the successful delivery of the StudentAid BC program.

**Job Requirements**:

- Post-Secondary intermediate accounting courses; OR, completion of the first level of the Financial Management Certificate Program; OR, Diploma in Business Administration or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in budget development, monitoring and analysis.
- Experience analyzing complex financial data for anomalies, variances and trends to recommend remedial action.
- Experience in developing, producing and analyzing financial statements and reconciling financial reports.
- Experience in communicating with multiple internal and external stakeholders to effectively achieve business needs.
- In-depth experience using MS Office software including Outlook and Word.
- Experience working with Excel at an intermediate or above level Excel skills including working with large sets of data, formulas, multiple worksheets, finding and replacing data, sub-totaling, sorting, filtering, setting up data validation and creating pivot tables and charts.
- Preference may be given to applicants who have experience using database systems including but not limited to: Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) Data Warehouse reporting tool and/or Revenue Management System (RMS).
