**POSITION OVERVIEW**

The primary role of the Dryer Operator is to operate the dryer safely and efficiently in order to process, dry, and package dairy products required for the manufacture of safe and high-quality food products. The Dryer Operator is a member of the MDI team and as such, participates in team efforts to achieve department goals, and provides support to other roles within the dairy operations as required. This position requires shift work, weekend, and holiday rotations in a 24/7 operation.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS**
- Set up, operate, and shut down and CIP Case Packing Machine and other butter production equipment. Operate and troubleshoot equipment in order to complete daily targets.
- Complete the required documentation. maintain shift logs of production and other required data in batch sheets and CIP logs, and/or record information into Navision.
- Accurately perform line quality checks, including sample taking, and recording results.
- Loade machinery with packing materials.
- Palletize and transport the product from the department to the cooler.
- Set up and complete Clean-in-Place (CIP) washes, as well as manual sanitizing and cleaning of equipment, and environmental cleaning. Ensure the work area and department are clean and tidy after the shift.
- Back up to the Printer Operator in their absence.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to all safety practices and protocols related to job responsibilities and tasks including wearing all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum high school diploma and/or relevant food processing experience.
- A forklift license and experience in forklift operation an assets.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to be flexible in terms of shift work and perform other duties as required.
- Able to lift up to 25kg (55 lbs.)
- Basic computer skills. Able to work and learn on user-friendly computerized control systems.
- Mechanical aptitude and solid troubleshooting ability.
- Able to work with regular exposure to noise, odour, chemical hazards, hazardous machines, and frequent interruptions.
