**Similkameen Seasonal Workers Program Coordinator**

**Casual 5 hrs/week $25.17/hour**

Lower Similkameen Community Services Society (LSCSS) is a multi-service organization providing services from early to senior years to the rural communities of Keremeos, Cawston, Hedley and Olalla. Our organization is committed to provide excellent programs that enhance quality of life by improving the social conditions, housing, health and education of our citizens. If you are a caring and skilled individual who enjoys making others feel welcome to our community, we want to hear from you We are looking for a Similkameen Seasonal Workers Program Coordinator to support migrant workers to increase awareness and understanding of their rights and responsibilities through educational activities and/or existing educational material, empowering migrant workers to exercise their rights by providing or assisting in accessing services available to them; fostering inclusion and welcoming migrant workers through social, cultural, and /or recreational events; supporting migrant workers during emergency situations; fostering new partnerships or leveraging existing partnerships/networks to support migrant workers; developing and implementing respectful, coordinated approaches among community organizations, and /or build their capacity and knowledge to provide resources and services to migrant workers.

**Typical Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Implements the program to meet contract goals and objectives, including determining methods of operating the program.
- Oversees program volunteers by performing duties such as orienting, training, scheduling, monitoring and providing feedback and support.
- Performs public relations and promotion activities such as preparing public relations material and advertisements, liaising with community groups, and arranging media coverage of events.
- Consults with community groups and health care professionals to identify trends, need, and priority issues. Maintains contact with community groups and volunteer organizations to promote interest, participation, and support for the program.
- Provides input regarding policies, procedures, goals and evaluation of the program.
- Assists in the preparation of the program budget, monitors expenditures, and assists with required financial documentation.
- Supervises staff by performing duties such as assigning work, providing feedback and evaluation, determining training requirements, orienting new staff, and maintaining timekeeping and attendance records. Resolves staffing problems, including calling in staff to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications include**:
Diploma in Community Social Service; Two years recent, related experience in delivering community-based programs; Or, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered; Or, other Qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work may be considered; Clearance through the Criminal Records Review Program for work with vulnerable people; BC Class 5 Driver’s licence and access to an adequately insured reliable vehicle for work purposes; Ability to speak Spanish is considered an asset

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 5 per week

**Salary**: $25.17 per hour
