The **Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor **will coordinate and supervise mechanical maintenance activities to achieve the highest level of quality, safety and effectiveness to maximize equipment availability of plant equipment at the lowest optimum sustainable maintenance cost in compliance with H&S as well as environmental rules and regulations. This position is based out of our Richmond Cement Plant.

**Responsibilities**:
H&S and environment:

- Follow the rules and regulations defined by the company as well as legal requirements; support the elaboration of safety standards for their area, control releases and follow all environmental regulations.

Maintenance operations:

- Supervise the execution of daily/weekly maintenance repairs; recommend technical improvements for cost reductions.
- Administrate work order system by generating notifications, closing work orders and recording data base and trends. Assure the quality of the job of maintenance Mechanics in the field. Ensure the proper storage of lubricants and cleanliness of the warehouse and the maintenance shop; manage inventory levels of key parts and supplies.
- Optimize efficiency of completed work orders, and balance the workload for each week of the year. Participate in weekly planning meetings as well as in major shut-down meetings to coordinate jobs with other departments.
- Responsible for the timely response to repair requests. Guarantees the correct and on time execution of work, interprets the results and generates actions based on inspections. Reports any abnormality in the weekly meetings. Monitors job duration, cost and performance of crew and subcontractors working under their responsibility.

Management - Planning & Cost control:

- Collaborate with the planning team on the development/optimization of job planning. Follow and report the Maintenance Planning KPIs, maintenance cost compared to budget, third party service cost analysis, unplanned downtime and work order efficiency.
- Assist in preparing the annual maintenance budget.

Standards:

- Create/optimize with own personnel and/or with suppliers, innovative techniques and advanced technology procedures to assure the quality of the job and reduce downtime.

People management:

- Establish the training programs needed for crew personnel, schedule available suppliers training based on Frame Contract.

Innovation and continuous improvement:

- Coordinates meetings with suppliers to check new/innovative developments or new techniques available to optimize the workload and the equipment. Provide assistance in the mechanical design and execution of plant projects.

- Generates a complete daily and weekly maintenance work schedule and supervision of job quality and execution.
- Coordinate with other departments and organize personnel for repairs as well as for big repairs and shutdowns.
- Monitor job duration, cost and performance of his/her crew and subcontractors working under his/her responsibility. Monitor and control overtime.
- Contribute to minimizing the level of equipment failure rate.
- Record adjustment measurements / anomalies observed on the equipment during work execution or inspection.
- Supervise, train and develop direct reports to achieve department goals in a manner to create employee ownership; create bench strength and succession plans.

**Qualifications**:
Education & Experience:

- Journeyman - Mechanical Trade
- Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment, preferably in the cement or heavy manufacturing industry; and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Skill Set:

- Ability to work self-directed.
- Knowledge of CIF (Cement Industrial Framework), MAC (Maintenance Cement), ACS, PMA CbM (Computer based Monitoring), Project Management Approach (PMA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Cost Basics preferred.
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities and propose improvement actions.
- Flexibility with working hours.
- Ability to manage stress, to provide assistance and to encourage the maintenance team in critical situations.
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, SAP PM (only transactions needed for the role), CATS.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. English is required for this role.
