**Job Description**:
Reporting to the Dean of the School of Advanced Technology (SAT), the Associate Chair will work closely with the Chairs of the academic departments and other Associate Chairs to source, interview, hire, onboard and orient new Other Than Full-Time (OTFT) Academic. (Note: the term "OTFT Academic" will be used in this JFS to refer to part-time, partial load, and sessional professors or instructors with teaching contact hours.) The incumbent will also provide mentorship, leadership and performance-related feedback to OTFT Academic using a continuous improvement approach with best practice industry standards and working in conjunction with Human Resources. The incumbent will share those responsibilities with other Associate Chairs in SAT or in the Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence (ACCE) based on the distribution and needs of various programs that might change over time according to the rate of growth.

Required Qualifications- Minimum of three (3)-Year Diploma/Degree. Preference for a post-secondary credential in a technical field related to science, engineering, information technology, programming, automotive or computer technology programs;- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in increasingly responsible roles, including a minimum of three (3) years spent in a supervisory role;- Experience hiring and managing professionals in a technical setting;- Demonstrated teaching experience in a post-secondary institution, preferably in a college setting;- Experience hiring and managing professionals in a technical setting;- Experience providing formal performance feedback to employees, a sound understanding of the process, and the ability to discuss and follow through on required actions;- Experience working in a post-secondary educational institution and preferably within a large unionized environment is considered an asset;- Ability to respond quickly to rapidly evolving situations dealing with multiple stakeholders;- Time management and organizational skills;- Effective communication, negotiation, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills;- Knowledge of, and experience in curriculum development, curriculum mapping to program standards, teaching/instruction, or preparation of teaching materials is required;- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills;- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools.
