As a Grocery Clerk/Cashier, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer service within the grocery store environment. Your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Customer Service: Greeting customers, helping, and ensuring their needs are met in a courteous and timely manner.
2. Cash Handling: Operating cash registers, processing transactions accurately, and providing change to customers.
3. Product Stocking: Receiving, unpacking, and stocking shelves with merchandise, ensuring products are neatly displayed and easily accessible to customers.
4. Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels, replenishing stock as needed, and notifying management of any shortages or discrepancies.
5. Product Knowledge: Familiarizing yourself with the store's product offerings, including prices, promotions, and locations within the store, to assist customers effectively.
6. Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping the checkout area, aisles, and store premises clean and always organized, including removing trash and debris.
7. Compliance with Policies and Procedures: Adhering to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including those related to cash handling, food safety, and sanitation.
8. Teamwork: Collaborating with colleagues to ensure efficient store operations, including assisting with tasks such as receiving shipments, restocking inventory, cleaning.
**Qualifications**:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling and transaction processing.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects as needed.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays as required by the store's operating hours.
** Minimum Full Time Job Duration**: 30Hrs - 37.5Hrs per week, for minimum 12 months
**Minimum Education**: High school diploma or equivalent.
**Language(s)**: English per NOC2021 TEER. Proficiency in other languages can be an asset, easy to deal with diverse community customers. Strong communication / interpersonal skills.
**Minimum Experience**: Not less than 12months in last 18months as retail cashier.
**Minimum Salary**: $16.65/hr
