Oldershaw Steel is a processor of steel parts located in South Etobicoke that has been in business since 1960. We are currently looking to expand our team by hiring an enthusiastic and driven **General Machinist** to run one or more **Blanchard grinding machines**. Full-time permanent. On-the-job training provided.

**Work schedule**: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am to 3:00pm; Friday, 5:00am to 1:00pm.

**Pay**: Starting at $22 per hour. **We'll gladly consider higher pay for experienced applicants**

**Job Duties**
- Load raw material onto the grinding table using a forklift or overhead crane.
- Setup machine according to work instructions and specified materials.
- Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed.
- Read work orders to verify part descriptions, quantities and special instructions.
- Inspect parts to ensure they are within specified tolerances.
- Label cut parts to maintain traceability.
- Unload finished parts with forklift or manually.
- Perform basic machine maintenance (i.e. cleaning, replacing consumables).

**Requirements**:

- General machinist / industrial machine operation experience. Blanchard grinding experience preferred.
- Forklift operator experience, preferably with valid license.
- Mechanical aptitude and enjoy working with your hands..
- Experience using measuring tools such as a tape measure, analog micrometer, depth gauge, or Vernier.
- Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Able to to speak, read and write English at a basic level.
- Able to work in a physically demanding environment including lifting up to 23 kg / 50 lbs.
- Legally allowed to work in Canada.
