Morskate Manufacturing is actively recruiting a motivated **Full-Time Dayshift Voortman Blast Machine Operator **to join our dynamic team of professionals**. **Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for duties around the shop as well as the operation of machines including the **drill press, ironworker, punch, shear, brake, blasting machine, saw, etc.** as trained to do so. Must have computer and machine maintenance skills, as well be neat and organized. We are a fast paced work environment, with room to advance. **Reports to**:Shop Supervisor

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain an excellent attendance record
- Interpret drawings and sketches to determine measurements
- Accurate use of square, levels, angle finder and other measuring tools related to specific area (in both Metric & Imperial)
- Operate basic hand tools i.e. drills, grinders, etc.
- Operate shop equipment i.e. **drill press, ironworker, punch, shear, brake, blasting machine, saw, etc.** as trained to do so
- Maintain and service machines as required

**Requirements/Qualifications**
- Previous experience operating machines in a shop environment is an asset
- Previous experience operating overhead cranes is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, procedures and practices
- Knowledge of materials and basic understanding of metals
- Skilled with numbers regarding accurate measurements, checking drawings, and counting parts
- Must be physically fit, able to lift 50 lbs., and be on feet for long periods to perform labour and physical work
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Possess problem solving skills
- Ability to speak and understand English clearly
- Must be willing to work overtime and Saturdays as needed
- Local or willing to relocate

**Salary**: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
