- Western Restaurant Franchises Inc - What began with a single A&W franchise back in 1997 quickly grew into one of the largest A&W franchise organization in Western Canada. Through smart financing, great local management teams and a deep respect for customers and employees alike, Western Restaurant Franchises currently owns and operates 36 booming A&W locations, serving neighborhoods from BC to Saskatchewan.
- BBS Pro - One of Western Canada’s largest full-service suppliers and distributors of biodegradable cleaning products, BBS Pro Services Inc. began formulating and manufacturing specialized cleaning products in 1995. Through a merger in 2016, the company also became Canada’s largest installer and service provider of draft beer systems, proudly serving the hospitality industry for over 25 years.
- Goodly Foods - Fulmer & Company was a founding partner in Goodly Foods, a unique social enterprise created in partnership with the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. The organization has two overarching goals: 1) To turn surplus produce into nutritious food products, and 2) To provide training and jobs for people who face significant barriers to employment, helping break the cycle of poverty. Goodly Foods is expanding and opening its new production facility in August 2023 to make even more good food and create even more jobs.

Fulmer & Company also has a venture investment portfolio providing mentorship and capital to support the growth of early-stage businesses.

We have an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Junior Financial Analyst in our Finance Department reporting to the Controller of Western Restaurant Franchises Inc. This position requires an analytical minded individual with expert excel capabilities to primarily support the financial planning and analysis functions of the operating businesses as well as the venture investment portfolio from time to time. We are located in Downtown Vancouver and provide opportunity for hybrid work.

**Core Responsibilities**
- Reporting and Analysis_
- Prepare weekly operational reports for each of the operating businesses to support decision making and operational activities undertaken by the business
- Analyze actual results to forecast results and investigate variances
- Develop financial models of operating businesses to understand trends and operational performance as well as demonstrate the financial implications of key decisions
- Gather data/information and translate to value added insights, monitoring of trends and tracking of KPIs
- Develop financial models for venture investments to analyze target investment opportunities and support capital allocation decision making
- Forecasting and Budgeting_
- Provides support to the controller and business managers in the completion of the annual budget by building and improving templates to assist in providing input on key budget assumptions
- Maintain and update forecast modelling on a monthly basis
- Other_
- Assist the Junior Accountant in the month end close process through the preparation of certain financial reports and reconciliations
- Provide back-up support and vacation coverage to the Junior Accountant
- Perform other duties as required by the Controller

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Excellent analytical skills are required to succeed in this position. Problem identification and resolution skills accompanied with innovative analysis to consider and recommend potential improvements are also required.
- Advanced excel skills are a critical to this role with the individual expected to rapidly develop financial models, reports and analyses.
- Responsive, a strong ability in anticipating needs and delivering on commitments
- A positive attitude and a team player mentality
- Strong people skills, with a proven ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally
- Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and a desire to look for process improvement opportunities
- Experience with Power BI, SQL or python are an asset but not required

**Experience**:

- 0 - 2 years related analytic experience

**Education**:

- Bachelor’s Degree: (required)
- Working towards a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation would be an asset

**Language**:

- English (required)
