We are seeking an ambitious and driven Summer Student to join our Engineering team in an Engineering and Architectural Assistant role. Must be enrolled to attend a secondary or post-secondary educational institution in the fall of 2023.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform minor revisions to drawings, sketches, and preliminary designs.
- Assist with checking projects of various complexities.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and able to meet expected issue dates.
- Participate in continuous improvement of innovative building designs.
- Attend site visits and meetings related to ongoing projects for the general review of construction.
- Review shop drawings and design details.
- Interpret shop drawings and blueprints.
- Assist with processing change orders.
- Coordinate with internal company divisions.
- Maintain a professional and safe workplace environment.
- Maintain organization of files both on the company server and within physical file folders.

**Requirements**:

- Knowledge in steel connection design, truss systems, and reinforced concrete foundations an asset.
- Familiarity with low-rise steel-framed construction an asset.
- Work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Must be familiar in using AutoCAD and Revit. Working experience would be considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity with pre-engineered metal building construction methods and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret Architectural and Structural drawings.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, required to compile letters and reports.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written English).

**Schedule**:

- Day shift
- Monday through Friday
- 40 hours per week with possibility of overtime

**Supplemental pay types**:

- Overtime pay after 44 hours in a work week.

**Salary**: $18.00 per hour
