Basketball Coach

DEEP Basketball Club is seeking a qualified basketball coach to help continue to teach and challenge our players to keep getting better for the 2023/24 REP season

**Background**

DEEP Basketball Club runs Jr. NBA and REP Programs. Our name DEEP stands for Details Elevate Every Pursuit. We started with just two teams in the summer and we will be featuring four teams this fall (u10, u11, u12 and u13). We focus on teaching detailed basketball fundamentals and play a fast-paced game

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement basketball training programs for a REP team
- Teach fundamental basketball skills, including shooting, dribbling, passing, and defense
- Plan and conduct practice sessions to improve players' skills and teamwork
- Provide guidance and support to players during games and competitions
- Evaluate players' performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement
- Create a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes sportsmanship and respect
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to coordinate schedules and events

**Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with players and coaches
- Ability to demonstrate and explain basketball skills in a clear and concise manner
- Strong organizational skills to plan practices, games, and other team activities
- Patience and the ability to manage behavior effectively

**QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS**
- University or college basketball playing experience is an asset
- 2+ years of experience coaching basketball
- Detail-oriented and great energy
- NCCP is a great asset

**REMUNERATION and DETAILS**:
This is a contract position $18.00 - $20.00 /hr (depending on experience), evening and weekend availability and this position is located in Burlington, ON

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 3-6 per week

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Evening shift
- Weekends as needed

- Burlington, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
