St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting a** Full Time, Probationary, Health Recovery Facilitator - LPN **for a work assignment with **Student Services.**
More than 9000 students are enrolled in St. Albert Public Schools. From Preschool to Grade 12, our students learn and succeed in programs that are recognized for excellence and their focus on citizenship and sound values. As a precondition of employment, all potential new hires will be required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (all recommended doses of a vaccine approved by Health Canada and recommended by Alberta Health Services). Exceptions will only be considered upon proof of a medical condition, or other protected ground under the Alberta Human Rights Act.
**Hours of Work***:30.0 hrs. /week; 6.0** **hrs. /day; Monday-Friday; Full Time Probationary
**Hourly Rate**:$32.67 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement
**Start Date**:Monday, August 28, 2023
**Deadline for Applications**:Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.
**Specific Needs/Requirements for this position**:
- Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Experience working in pediatrics
- Completion of Pediatric Course through AHS Homecare
- Ability to perform tracheal suction and ongoing respiratory assessment
- Experience and knowledge in supporting students with a seizure disorder
- Ability to support assistive technology usage
- Experience using visual aides
- Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team
- Assist student with g-tube feeding and medication administration, toileting and physical tasks (lifting and transferring)
- Experience working with elementary students with various diverse needs an asset
- Knowledge and experience administering medication to children
- Experience with use of oxygen tank and concentrator
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Courses, seminars, and specialized training related to required skills.
- Experience related to the position.
- Other skills and abilities applicable to the position.
