Ocean Import Coordinator

Applicants should have a minimum of 3 year’s experience in freight forwarding and be accustomed to working in a team environment at a high-paced speed.

They should possess superior communication and customer service skills as well as problem-solving and decision-making. They should be detail-oriented and be able to demonstrate effective organizational skills. Additionally, they should be able to communicate effectively with customers and sell all the various services that NEWL’s has to offer.

**Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to**:

- Coordinating and managing of the inbound Ocean imports;
- Working closely with overseas agents for ocean imports;
- Tracking / Tracing daily and updating clients;
- Client / Vendor / Agent interaction and development on a daily basis;
- Invoicing approval and auditing as required;
- Timely billing of the shipments;
- Maintenance of personal shipment files in a timely manner with precision;
- escalating problems when necessary;
- Comply with the various filing requirements (i.e. CERS and E-manifest portal);
- Working with the sales department to ensure clients’ needs are met and exceeded; and
- Performing other duties assigned by your manager in accordance with established company policies and procedures.

**Assets**:

- CIFFA or related industry training is considered an asset, but is not required;
- Experience working with LoadLink;
- Someone who has handled other modes of transportation (i.e. air and ocean);
- Knowledge of customs brokerage as it relates to freight forwarding is appreciated, but not required.
- MS Excel / Word / Outlook
