**We are in search of a virtual Neuroscience Instructor who has**:

- 1 or more years of instructing experience in Neuroscience
- Enthusiastic and professional in teaching
- Ability to motivate students
- Experience teaching online

**Responsibilities**:

- Create an innovative environment for the students by preparing and executing activities that are beneficial to adding to the student’s knowledge of **Neuroscience **using concepts from the field and incorporating hands on labs.
- Ensure the atmosphere is inclusive, welcoming, and safe for all children
- Educating meaningful content children between the ages 8-17 years in a virtual environment
- Provide weekly assessment reports on how the students are progressing, taking attendance daily
- Provide positive role-modelling for child participants and volunteers to the program, always be polite and helpful, and smile and greet both parents and children
- Creating and conducting neuroscience lessons using age-appropriate content

**Qualifications**:

- Knowledge of classroom management in an online setting
- Ability to connect with students
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Exceptional leadership skills
- Execution of neuroscience labs, models, and virtual simulations.

**Requirements**:

- Must have a recent Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance Check
- Teaching background in neuroscience with the ability to produce age appropriate content.
- Display a foundational understanding of the relationships between technology, engineering, computer sciences, and other related academic fields
- Ability to keep students engaged and focused on an online classroom setting if required
- Previous online teaching experience is considered an asset
- Access to reliable internet connection as well as ability to use communication platforms such as zoom

**Shifts**: Please note that shifts for this role will vary, as the audience is international. Shifts will be in 1 to 2.5 hour increment, and can take place from 9 am to 11pm, based on geographical region of the students. A typical shift can be 1 hour to up to 4 hours in length. Shifts are determined by your availability to take a shift based on the class times offered.

**Planned Start Date: November 18, 2024 or January 13, 2025**
**End Date**:June 20, 2025 or ongoing, open-ended
**Work Location **:Remote via Zoom
**Rate**: $25.87 per hour
