Your Opportunity:
The Psychiatric Emergency Supports is looking to hire a Mental Health Aide, with completion of the Health Care Aide Certificate, to work closely with our vulnerable population who present to our ED with Mental Health concerns. Must be a team player, work collaboratively, and able to take direction while working in a busy environment. Strong communication skills, self awareness and being able to thereputically engage with patients in an ever changing environment. Multisite to include Step Up Step Down, Unit 39, other RDRHC medical units, and PCHAD as orientation is completed.

Description:
As a Mental Health Aide, you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team to provide a welcoming and safe care environment. You will assist in the provision of direct patient/client care as delegated in a person-centered, recovery oriented and safe manner. In this position, you will assist and / or promote independence to patients/clients in completing activities of daily living as well as assisting other health professionals with providing treatments and observing and reporting relevant patient/client information to professional staff. You will assist new patients/clients and families with orientation, and assist in the general support of the work area.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of Grade 12. Completion of Health Care Aide or Mental Health Aide Certificate or equivalent.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Experience working with a vulnerable population (2 years within 4). Strong interpersonal boundaries required in this role.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Diploma/Degree in related field considered and asset.
