**Handyman/Facility Maintenance**

**Gibsons Garden Hotel - located in Gibsons, Sunshine Coast BC. **As a well-known hotel in Gibsons, we are proud to our very friendly working environment with a super responsive team. The hotel major renovation has been completed in 2019. We are seeking for a Building Maintenance to join our operation team and providing superior customer service and attention to detail with preventative maintenance tasks and repairs, as well as overseeing all maintenance operations.

**Working Schedule**:
5 days per week, 6-7 hours per day. Working hours can be flexible. We can also work on contract based with a higher pay.

**Definition**:
Works independently, performs a variety of work and routine preventive maintenance including repair of buildings, facilities, garden, and related assigned duties to ensure a well operational function and physical condition of the rooms, public areas, and the building.

**Minimum Qualifications, Education, Training, and Experience**:
Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience in one or more of the building trades.

**Knowledge of**:
Methods used in maintenance including basic knowledge of the following trades:

- Carpentry, plumbing, painting, gardening, minor electric and appliances repair. Standard practices and using power tools in the maintenance and repairing of building facilities; safety practices and procedures related to the building trades.

**Job description**:

- Perform a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of the building and equipment, parking lot, and garden including carpentry, electrical (minor repairs or electric device replacement), plumbing, exterior cleaning and painting tasks.
- Repairs and treats structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, and carpets.
- Maintain good condition of the swimming pool and hot tub, including testing and balancing chemicals in water, vacuum pool, maintain the pool patio and hot tub decking, including stairs.
- Performs minor troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments of electronic locks on the door, cabinets, desks, closets; repair door hinges; cleans plugged key slots; cleaning filters on PTAC/AC, ventilation, and air conditioning units; connecting appliances; reports mechanical malfunctions to Direct Manager for action.
- Moves and assists in moving furniture and equipment at sites.
- Performs shampoo cleaning of the carpet in guest rooms, meeting room, public areas including stairs, hallways, fitness room, and lobby, perform vacuum and general clean prior than shampooing are required.
- Exercises discretion in identifying projects requiring the services of a higher skilled craftsperson.
- Maintains a well operational function of all tools.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly workstation, worksite, and regular duties according to the fire safety plan.
- Light renovation for upgrading the hotel maybe required in the slow season.
- Other assigned duties may be required.

**Application Method**:
**One with hotel maintenance experience or light renovation skills has priority.**

Part-time hours: 35 per week

**Salary**: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
