**Crew Supervisor - Parks Operations**:
**4-day work week**

Our Parks, Recreation & Culture Department is seeking an energetic and positive supervisor to work with, and direct employees engaged in the operation, maintenance, and construction of the City’s parks, playing fields, trails, cemetery, and other grounds.

You will organize, prepare work and equipment schedules, order materials/supplies and assign, supervise, and assist in work involving the repair, maintenance and construction of parks operating a variety of tools and equipment. You will assist with preparing cost estimates for parks-related activities and maintenance and monitor and assess work performed ensuring it meets a high standard of quality, efficiency and customer service performed in compliance with WorkSafe BC regulations and risk management practices. You need to be a self-directed individual who can effectively organize and prioritize their workload and meet tight deadlines in a challenging environment.

To be successful in this position, you must have considerable knowledge of the equipment, tools, practices, materials and methods related to park development and maintenance, urban forestry, playing fields and playground maintenance and construction, cemetery operations, and grounds maintenance and demonstrated leadership and coaching abilities, together with the ability to provide clear direction to supervised employees and to effectively supervise and co-ordinate the work of a group of employees.

The current hourly rate for this full-time CUPE position is $42.28 plus a comprehensive benefits package including the Municipal Pension Plan. This position works Wednesday to Saturday (9-hour shifts; 72 hours bi-weekly) from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Education : Other trades certificate or diploma
Experience : 3 years to less than 5 years
