The Durham Catholic District School Board is located just east of Toronto and is renowned for providing comprehensive Catholic education to over 21,150 students in 39 elementary schools, 7 secondary schools, and 6 continuing and alternative education centers throughout Durham Region.

**POSITION**: English as a Second Language Instructor - Adult Non-Credit (Temporary)

**CLB LEVEL(S)**:CLB Literacy

**HOURS OF WORK**: 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Monday to Friday

**START DATE**:As soon as possible

**Term**:April 3, 2023 - June 9, 2023

**RATE OF PAY**: $40.21 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Deliver classroom instruction to LINC/ESL students both in-person and virtually from assigned locations in Whitby and Ajax.
- Follow lesson plans and/or prepare lesson plans according to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) levels and student needs.
- Implementation of CLB related activities and competencies.
- Complete required reports and student attendance.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Teachers of English as a Second Language (TESL) Ontario certification (OCELT).
- Portfolio-Based Language Assessment (PBLA) training and experience.
- CLB bootcamp certificate.
- Experience using History of Assessment, Referral, and Training Systems (HARTs) for recording course data, learner data, and attendance.
- Thorough understanding of Canadian Language Benchmarks.
- Excellent command of the English language, both oral and written.
- Ability to maintain records, artifacts, and other supporting documents as required.
- Proficient computer skills and experience integrating technology into the classroom.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and D2L Brightspace platforms is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months
Part-time hours: 15 per week
