McQuesten Urban Farm is an innovative neighbourhood development initiative that provides a space where people can come together to grow, cook, share and advocate for good food.

The Farm engager/volunteer coordinator will work with children, families, teachers and students of local elementary schools to offer enriching farm programming and educational workshops. They will also be facilitatin outreach and inforamtion presenstations to enhance volunteer recruitment, co-op and internship opportunities. Other responsibilities would include creating partnerships with community entities for fundraising and in-kind supprt as well as working with Farm committee to develop processes and designes of project. Farm engager will supprt the physical propagation and production of food, medicinal and ornamental crops accoring to organic practices and standards. Other asministrative duties and evaluations as required.

Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience working with children, families in an educational setting
- Minimum 3 years experience working food project
- Experience in low income, diverse neighbourhoods
- Experience in food growing an asset, not neccessary
- Experience in leading workshops, and presentations
- Strong social media experience
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work both alone and as part of a team
- Profecience in Excel, Word and data base management
- Some evenings and weekends required
- Second-language and/or McQuesten area resident considered asset
- _Combination of education and experience will be considered_

40 hours per week, 6 month contract
