Aircraft Piston Engine Inspector

Aero Recip (Canada) Ltd. is Canada’s largest aircraft piston engine overhaul facility. We are currently looking for a Piston Engine Inspector.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Piston Engine Inspector/Assembler is responsible for the inspection of opposed engines and parts.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous experience on opposed piston aircraft engines desirable
- Works well with others
- A high level of integrity
- Minimum Grade 12
- Aviation training desirable
- Mechanically inclined
- Knowledge of tools and measuring devices
- Able to read drawings and blueprints and interpret technical manuals
Position Duties/Responsibilities
- Inspect engine parts for serviceability, reworks required, and scrap (unserviceable or unrepairable parts) and visual, structural, and dimensional inspection of parts and/or assemble in accordance with applicable Overhaul Manuals, Company Processes and Company Instructions, Engineering Orders, Service Bulletins, Service Instructions, Engineering Memorandums and Temporary Overhaul Data Revisions.
- Read work order for instructions
- Order parts and make rework sheets.
- Check reworks for completion.
- Identify and dispose of scrap per Company procedures.
- Document information from Work Order to inspection sheet
- Receive parts from cleaning, NDT, Sales or the production line
- Provide sales with information on parts required and parts scrapped.
Computer Skills/Machines and Equipment
- Standard tools & measuring devices
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel )
Other Comments
- Being able to pay close attention to details is essential to successfully performing the job.
- Must maintain a thorough working knowledge of overhaul manuals, parts books, service bulletins and service instructions to keep informed of any changes in overhaul procedures.
- A clean work area must be maintained to avoid any foreign objects contaminating the built units
