Would you like a challenge? Something to get you in the Christmas spirit? The Salvation Army in Portage is hiring a Christmas Kettle Coordinator.

The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign is part of a century old tradition to contribute towards building strong communities by helping TSA to give hope to other.
- Starting at 15 hours per week and then up to 40 hours per week
- October 15, 2024 to January 6, 2025

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- May assist in the recruitment of Kettle Workers (employees and volunteers), assisting with orientation, performance management, discipline and payroll processing.
- Coordinates the schedule for Kettle staff, and responds to emergency absences, etc.
- Fosters and maintains positive working relationships with kettle sites, addressing conflicts/issues as they arise.
- Delivers and picks up kettles to/from sites daily, ensuring the security of donations.
- Hosts at kettles, as required, to ensure necessary coverage for breaks, etc.
- May assume responsibility for coordinating kettle counters and/or overseeing counting.
- Records statistical data, as required, for local/divisional/territorial offices.
- Assists with major Christmas events as required.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:
**Qualifications and education requirements**:

- Some high school coursework, completion of high school is an asset.

**Experience**:

- A minimum of one year of related experience or working in customer service.
- Money handling experience is an asset.
- Experience in office administration.
- Related experience is an asset.

**PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES**:

- Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
- Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to provide an original copy of a Background Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required, including Child Check (if appropriate).
- A Driver’s Abstract that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.
- Valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle required.
- Enthusiastic Team Player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to lift 9 to 12 kgs (20 - 25 lbs).
- Strong customer service skills; enjoy liaising and working with people of all ages and abilities.
- Willingness to be flexible and work well under pressure with daily timelines and changing priorities.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in the handling of donor, volunteer, and organizational information.
