Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

Victoria Park Golf Club operates two golf courses in Puslinch (Guelph) Ontario. Victoria Park East is an 18-hole regulation par 71 course designed by Rene Muylaert, opened in 1974. Victoria Park Valley is a 27- hole executive length golf course opened in 2012. The East course is maintained to the highest standards and is considered one of the best conditioned courses in the area. Victoria Park Valley features 3 distinct nines with rolling terrain and large white pine trees that make the course very picturesque and challenging.

**Position Description**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Help supervise and train staff with daily maintenance activities.
- Safety Procedures - make sure all employees comply with Victoria Park’s safety policies.
- Irrigation System Maintenance - Maintain Rainbird Decoder irrigation system in proper working order.
- IPM - Assist superintendent in all aspects of Integrated Pest Management.
- Ensure maintenance equipment is operated safely. Communicate with golf course mechanic on equipment performance or concerns.
- Communicate and assist with other department heads (golf professionals and club house managers) to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Assist with ice and snow removal in the off season.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum three years of golf course experience, or similar landscaping experience.
- Graduate of a recognized turf program or experience in this field.
- Must posses a valid Landscape Exterminator License or willing to obtain it.
- Valid Drivers license.
- Able to perform physical labour.
- Have good organizational and communication skills.
- Positive work ethic and attitude, and ability to work with a diverse staff.
- Willing to learn and develop professionally.

**Compensation**:

- Full time.
