**Long Description**:
Pittman Asphalt, part of the Terus Construction Group., is seeking a Shop Foreman for its operation in Prince George, BC.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will provide support and supervise employees to complete daily repairs and preventive maintenance and perform related assigned tasks and duties under limited supervision.

**Long Description**:
**Duties / Tasks**:

- Schedule, coordinate and supervise the daily activities of mechanics
- Schedule and organize equipment required for construction projects
- Responsible for developing safe behavior in safety and health compliance
- Supervises and directs employees in performing operations ensuring company guidelines and policies are followed
- Conduct site safety inspections, safety meetings, hazard assessment and employee orientations
- Monitor estimated equipment repair costs to actual equipment repair costs and improve processes
- Responsible for developing safe behavior in safety and health compliance
- Monitor and report daily costing
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity
- Ensure materials and supplies are available when required
- Coordinate and monitor the training and development of mechanics and welders
- Perform maintenance and repair activities on various pieces of heavy equipment
- Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments to fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires and clutches.
- Diagnose problems, disassemble units, repair or replace parts and re-assemble units
- Assist in completing all maintenance inspections.
- Ensure all repairs completed are documented.
- Record any equipment deficiencies.
- Organization and scheduling of all repairs & inspections

**Long Description**:
**Qualifications/ Experience**:

- Registered Journeyman Mechanic Certificate
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Strong technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude to perform service on various equipment ranging from heavy duty equipment to small engine and parts.
- Extensive knowledge of construction equipment
- Ability to work independently with mínimal direction.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask is a must.
- Team player
- Proficient in computers / tablets for daily maintenance records, timecards, reporting

**Long Description**:
**Requirements**:

- Must be able to work respecting safety policies and procedures. Perform duties safely. around mobile equipment and have a high sense of safety awareness while performing his/ her work.
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
- Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol policy, including testing requirements.
- Must comply with all company policies.
- Valid drivers license
