**CLASSIFICATION: Counsellor II - Part-time TERM to January 2024

HOURS: 0.6 FTE, all clinic sites

SALARY: Collective Agreement CUPE #974

CORE FUNCTION: To restore and/or enhance the mental, emotional and social health and well
- being of Community Clinic clients. To do this through individual, couple and
family therapy, education, community action, and program leadership.

DUTIES:

- To provide psychotherapy to Community Clinic clients and family

members.
- To provide program leadership as dictated by client and program needs.
- To work as part of the health care team.
- To participate in health education activities.
- To participate in the clinical supervision of practicum students.
- To participate on community committees and boards to develop and

maintain relevant community services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- A Master’s degree in Social Work or Psychology, or the equivalent in work

experience, training and education. (To qualify as having the equivalent to
a Master’s degree, a person must have a Bachelor degree, such as a B.S.W.
or B.A. (Hon. Psych) that includes several courses in counselling theory
and practice and a counselling practicum, plus additional training and at
least six years’ experience as a psychotherapist).
- Eligible for registration in a professional association and eligible for

liability insurance to practice psychotherapy.
- Three years experience as an individual, couples and family therapist
- Experience in program and group leadership.
- Significant clinical training in a broad range of assessment and treatment
- skills, for individual, couple and family therapy.- Demonstrated ability to work as an independent practitioner within a
- multi-disciplinary health care team.- Compatible with the philosophy of the CHSA.
- Must be bondable.
- EMR experience preferred.
