**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**:
The Flowering Section Grower’s primary focus is the health of the entire flower section, inside PODs and out. Teams will focus on defoliation, fills, canopy maintenance, scouting, IPM, harvest and various other plant related tasks. Section Growers will assess any plant, pets, environment, mechanical or nutrient bases issues and report directly to the Head Grower. Together, the Sections Growers and Head Grower will create an action plan, implementation plan and work together to resolve the issue. Section Growers will be responsible for making sure their team works together to ensure the everyone is working towards compliances and taking necessary corrective actions for all growing issues. The Section Growers target fill dates, and harvest dates will come from the Grow Inventory Specialist. Direction and support on day-to-day cultivation problems or issues will come from the Head Grower.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. The plants and infrastructure in the Flowering Pods is ultimately the responsibility of the Flowering Section Grower with support from the Head Grower, including but not limited to:
- Plant maintenance
- Pest related issues
- Nutritional needs
- Environmental needs - both within the room as well as the building
- Section cleanliness both inside the pods as well as external
2. It is the responsibility of the Flowering Section Grower to move the plants from the nursery pods (to flowering pods) when they are ready to initiate flowering. This is the point when the Flowering Section grower assumes responsibility for the batch of plants.
3. Responsible for ensuring a task/work schedule for each crop is created as well as scheduling staff to complete the work.
4. Complete and approve timecards, and time off requests for the assigned team.
5. Ensure any team leads reporting to the section grower have completed and approved timecards assigned to them.
6. Responsible for ensuring harvest is completed before the deadline date to have the assigned pods emptied with enough time to clean and prep for the next fill.
7. Responsible for requesting and providing timelines to the sanitation team for support in removing empty bags, cleaning, and turning over flowering pods.
8. Section growers are expected to be integral parts of their teams, training and coaching the preferred methodology.
9. Ability to identify nutrient toxicity and deficiencies. Create and implement corrective action plan with production staff.
10. Ability to identify and diagnose pests, molds/mildews and plant deficiencies and notify the Integrated Pest Management Technician to make recommendations while abiding by Health Canada Regulations regarding treatments.
11. Growers are expected to follow all Delta 9 growing methodologies and SOP’s.
12. Collaboration with Head Grower and QA on improved technology and growing methodologies is encouraged following Delta 9 testing procedures.
13. Work closely with and alongside Team Leads to ensure teams are following SOP’s and Delta 9 growing methodologies such as
- Room fills.
- Defoliation
- Destruction
- Trellis installations etc.
- Harvest
- Record Keeping
14. Work closely with the Head Grower to resolve any plant or mechanical related issues.
15. Work closely with Quality Department and Integrated Pest Management Technician to make recommendations while abiding by Health Canada Regulations regarding treatments.
16. Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance.
17. Document all processes associated with the plants using Delta 9’s chosen software.
18. Cross train other section growers as requested by the Head Grower
20. Support the Head Grower with writing SOP/WI updates.
21. Other duties as assigned
**KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED**:
1. Greenhouse Applicator’s License required within 90 days of hiring date.
2. Three-Five years experience in a LP grow facility is considered an asset.
3. Understanding of all aspects of cloning, seed propagation and genetics, including phenotype and genotype selection considered an asset.
4. MMAR and ACMPR related growing experience is an asset.
5. Exceptional communication skills and ability to deal with all types of personalities.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as editing, research and
7. analytical skills.
8. Strong organizational skills and ability to execute detailed plans.
9. Must be able to pass a criminal record check.
