**Counselling Services**
- Functioning as part of a clinical team, manage and provide counselling services (short and mid-range in term) as appropriate to adult survivors of violence.
- Work collaboratively with the client through intake, crisis intervention, assessment, clinical intervention and process, termination, and follow-up if necessary.
- Provide specific information and intervention related to the effects of relationship and sexual violence.
- Participate in the development, provision and follow-up of therapeutic groups and self-skill workshops.

Community Liaison, Advocacy and Public Education
- Consult with, advocate for, and co-ordinate client services with other agencies, professionals and systems.
- Refer as needed to other programs, services and resources.
- Participate, as requested, in liaison and networking around issues pertaining to counselling for survivors of historic and recent violence.
- Respond to requests from the community or other professionals for information about violence against women.
- Conduct community presentations, as requested, around issues of violence against women.

Accountability and Record Keeping
- Report regularly to the Executive Director.
- Utilise agency resources, including peers, supervisor and clinical consultant effectively regarding therapeutic issues, ethics and professional accountability.
- Maintain current records, statistics and documentation.
- Participate as an effective counselling/WAP team member and contribute to agency team building.
- Ensure a process for client and program evaluation.
- Is aware of, and able to implement, child protection legislation as necessary.
- Support and adheres to all relevant legislative and program standards, as well as Agency policy, procedure, philosophy and ethics.

Professional Development
- Maintain a current knowledge of issues related to violence against women in the areas of childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, and abuse in intimate relationships, counselling methods and relevant legislation.

- Continue to develop skills and expertise as it pertains to individual and group counselling for female survivors of violence.
- Attend staff meetings and approved continuing education programs.
- Provide leadership to team, agency and community on relevant issues.
- Network with other colleagues and professionals in the field.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 17.5 per week
