Sinai Health is looking for a **Supervisor **in our **Support Services Department** at our Sinai Health Campus. The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing daily operational activities for the Support Services department. This role will oversee the operations of Housekeeping, Laundry & Linen, Mail Room, and Stores.

The primary goal to be achieved in this role is the highest possible customer satisfaction in support of providing safe, high quality service excellence and compassionate patient centered care. The incumbent will also ensure positive employee and labour relations, successful employee retention and development, and the achievement of expected financial / performance results for the portfolio. In carrying out assigned responsibilities, the Manager must ensure that all staff comply with corporate policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
**Leadership**
- Builds relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to keep pace with operational requirements; participates in related committees as required
- Demonstrates and promotes Sinai Health culture, mission, vision and values
- In partnership with program leadership, assesses operations with the goal of enhancing service delivery and workflows to ensure best practice
- Provides recommendations to program leadership regarding the provision of services, resources, staffing levels, staff training and the maintenance and performance of equipment to achieve operations requirements
- Establishes departmental goals and objectives that are consistent with the delivery of safe, high quality patient care
- Recognizes the need for and demonstrates effective communication and listening skills with clients, customers and employees; promotes teamwork and interprofessional collaboration

**Human Resources Management**
- Staff management; manages ongoing recruitment, performance management and staff development
- Directs all supervision to ensure day-to-day operations are maintained in accordance with Sinai Health policy and procedures
- Directs and assists supervisors in the development of a training plan for employees and ensures its successful implementation
- Promotes and maintains positive labour and employee relations
- Develops, delivers and evaluates Support Services staff development strategies to align operations to required standards
- Manages investigation, conflict resolution and any resulting grievances, mediation, arbitration, etc.

**Financial**
- Responsible for attainment of financial goals and for the accuracy and timeliness of financial data and key performance/result indicators
- Analyzes financial statements, weekly operating reports, and other financial results; develops strategies to stay on target
- Manages and coordinates action plans for financial improvements to achieve budget adherence

**Program Quality and Standards**
- Applies the principles of continuous quality improvement to measure, monitor and assess effectiveness and potential adverse effects of Support Services delivery of service to optimize improvement in services and prevent risk
- Ensures department compliance with all safety codes, infection control, health and safety, legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements
- Develops and maintains valid and reliable workload measurement tools for the department by collecting, analyzing and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Improves operational efficiency by identifying and recommending new or improved Support Services policies and procedures
- Responsible for the implementation of all Sinai Health corporate programs
- Follows program and quality standards by use of company expectation reports in a timely and consistent manner
- Manages the Sinai Health infection control and quality management processes for Support Services
- Encourages staff participation in quality improvement activities and active contribution to the achievement of KPIs
- Administers required customer surveys (and other feedback vehicles) and responds in a timely and effective manner
- Ensures that all employees demonstrate a service orientation focused on providing safe, high quality patient care

**Health and Safety**
- Takes a lead role in creating a culture of safety, risk mitigation, quality, and service at the unit level to improve practices and service delivery
