- Le camp de jour de la Maison Saint Columba House est un camp de jour abordable et bilingue qui répond aux besoins spécifiques des familles locales et de la communauté de Pointe Saint Charles et des environs. Le moniteur de camp de jour est responsable de la planification et de l'animation d'activités offrant une grande variété d'opportunités d'apprentissage et de loisirs. Il développera des relations significatives avec les jeunes et fournira un soutien et des encouragements continus tout au long de l'été._

**Tâches et responsabilités**
- Avec les autres membres de l'équipe, être responsable de la sécurité et du bien-être d'un groupe de 15 à 20 enfants.
- Planifier et animer des activités pour les enfants: activités culturelles, sportives, bricolage, jeux, etc.
- Favoriser une bonne santé physique par des activités récréatives et des sorties stimulantes.
- Promouvoir le bien-être social et émotionnel par des activités de groupe et des interventions individualisées.
- Participer à la supervision, à la formation et à l'évaluation des apprentis moniteurs.
- Préparer et participer activement aux réunions du personnel une à deux fois par semaine.
- Participer aux évaluations post-camp, à l'inventaire et au nettoyage.
- Bilinguisme : Une langue peut être plus forte que l'autre
- Expérience de travail avec des enfants ayant des comportements difficiles et/ou des difficultés socio-émotionnelles
- Sensibilité envers les enfants ayant des besoins particuliers, y compris des retards d'apprentissage et/ou de développement
- Solides compétences en gestion de groupe
- Expérience d'animation d'activités pour les enfants
- Capacité à travailler de manière autonome et en équipe, à prendre des initiatives et des responsabilités, à faire preuve de créativité et de patience et à être capable de pratiquer l'écoute active
- Capacité à gérer le stress, à être flexible et adaptatif, à résoudre des problèmes et à demander conseil si nécessaire

**Schedule**: Full time (40 hours/week), June 17th - August 2nd 2024

**Hours**: 8:30am-4:30pm

The Saint Columba House Day Camp is an affordable and bilingual day camp that caters to the specific needs of local families and the community of Pointe Saint Charles. The camp counselor for the summer program is responsible for planning and animating activities that provides a wide variety of learning and recreational opportunities. The camp counselor will develop supportive relationships with youth, and provide ongoing support and encouragement throughout the summer.

**Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Along with other team members, be responsible for the safety and well-being of a group of 15-20 children
- Plan and animate activities for children: cultural activities, sports, arts and crafts, games, etc.
- Promote good physical health through stimulating recreational activities and outings
- Promote social and emotional well-being through group activities and individualized interventions
- Participate in the supervision, training and evaluation of counselors-in-training
- Prepare for and actively participate in staff meetings once per week
- Participate in post-camp evaluations, inventory and clean-up
- Bilingualism: One language might be stronger than the other.
- Experience working with children with challenging behaviours and/or socio-emotional difficulties
- Strong group management skills
- Experience animating activities for children
- Ability to work both independently and as a team, to take initiative and responsibility, to demonstrate creativity and patience, and to be able to practice active listening
- Capacity to manage stress, to be flexible and adaptive, to problem solve and to seek guidance when needed

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 7 weeks

Pay: $16.50 per hour
