**ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT**:
The Manager Capital Projects implements the Capital Asset Management Plan for the construction, rehabilitation and upgrading of buildings and structures within the Company.

**MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Prepares necessary documents for RFP’s to acquire the services of outside professionals (consultants, engineers, architects, etc.) and outside contractors, to construct new, rehabilitate and to modify/upgrade existing buildings and other infrastructure
- Works with Procurement and Legal Counsel to develop contract documents and quote/tender projects following company policies and procedures. Analyzes responses, makes recommendations, and prepares purchase requisitions and/or issues necessary contract documents
- Prepares detailed packages for construction, modification, and operation of buildings and other infrastructure following company policies and procedures
- Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise the project team
- Provide training and support to junior staff, monitor their work performance
- Co-ordinates, schedules, and monitors the work of ONTC trades, outside contractors, outside professionals, and suppliers
- Construction Contract Project Management, including cash flow projections (monthly and quarterly using Questica) and legal contracts (using Cobblestone)
- Completes cost estimates and other documentation related to capital and business planning, including current year, 3 year, 10 year Capital Asset Management Plans and other long range capital planning
- Oversee the work of the capital projects team to ensuring alignment of work and deadlines with Capital Asset Management Plans

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- University Degree in an engineering discipline or other demonstrated qualifying education and experience in building and other infrastructure construction and upgrading in an industrial setting
- Experience managing, coaching and training employees in a project management environment
- Extensive, practical knowledge and experience in building and infrastructure construction and upgrading in an industrial setting
- P. Eng and/or PMP certification will be considered an asset
- Working knowledge and experience with all engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, structural, architectural, geotechnical, etc.)
- Experience with Construction Contract Project Management (coordination, planning, scheduling, legal contracts, documentation, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience with MS Office and AutoCAD Software
- Knowledge of current building and construction codes and regulations, including directives, policies and practice relevant to the Ontario public sector
- Must be committed to company health and safety
- Must be capable of working independently and under pressure with minimum guidance or supervision
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
