**Position Summary**:
The Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager will be managing the Oakville facility and will report to the Plant Manager. He/She is responsible for leading the team of Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Supervisors/Technologists and technicians to ensure best in class Food Safety Quality assurance and control systems. This person will also be responsible for Regulatory compliance and will be the direct point of contact for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). They will establish and manage all external relationships with the CFIA.

The Manager of Food Safety Quality Assurance will have accountability for the effective deployment of policies, procedures and programs that maintain Food Safety and Quality standards for company’s products with adherence to both internal and external standards. FSQA Manager Develops and executes programs and policies that ensure regulatory compliance. Contributes and is accountable for specifications which drives adherence to manufacturing guidelines. Analyze test results and recommends corrective actions. Develops and maintains effective relationships with the cross functional plant leadership team, auditor or customer representatives and the CFIA. Provides FSQA regulatory compliance to the plant. Responsible for effectively maintaining the company’s food safety and quality management programs (FSQM), (certification programs and regulatory programs) to ensure correct, complete and in compliance to current Standards and Regulations. Including Sanitation, Pest Control, and contracted Laboratories.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead, coach, train and effectively delegate tasks and activities to the FSQA team to set, review and execute the FSQM policies, procedures, HACCP plan and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Schedules, conducts monthly FSQA meetings; develops and follows through with FSQA initiatives, and actions to resolve issues effectively that may arise.
- Develop, implement, maintain and reassess certification programs for FSQM and regulatory programs for HACCP-based food safety programs.
- Develop, implement and maintain FSQA programs and procedures to improve quality and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Develop, maintain and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day to day tasks of the plant FSQA function.
- Proactively identifies the facility’s FSQA issues and guides the discipline and appropriate documentation in the process/resolution.
- Works closely with plant leadership team to provide Food Safety and Quality expertise to the plant processes including operational readiness, change preparation, change execution and post change FSQA validation.
- Active participant on the cross functional plant leadership team
- regular attendance of some meetings.
- Creates and delivers regular management reports on the daily/weekly/monthly Food Safety & Quality Assurance status.

**Key Deliverables**:

- Quickly establish trust and credibility and become highly visible and accessible to the cross functional plant team to gain a clear and solid understanding of the overall issues, requirements of food safety and quality within the plant.
- Ensure the ongoing optimization of FSQA processes in the manufacturing facility.
- Manage, motivate and mentor FSQA staff to enable them to deliver high quality FSQA solutions and support to all cross functional areas throughout the plant. Manage priorities to achieve the day to day, long term and project-based deliverables of the FSQA department that will ultimately facilitate and align with Pintys corporate objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in food science or related FSQA discipline.
- Minimum of seven years of experience with three of them in a supervisory/ managerial capacity.
- Excellent skills and abilities to communicate and manage differences effectively.
- He/She has an internal customer focus with strong ability to lead a team to provide FSQA expertise and excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to define priorities, create sustainable and credible plans and achieve goals through the efforts of a team reporting directly to them.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and within the plant environment as business needs dictate.
