VanPile is seeking a Project Manager, Design Build, that manages all aspects of projects: sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors, and summarizes the progress of projects. This person will prepare reports for management and provide work direction to the project management team.

**What we expect from you**:

- Plan, organize, direct and control the daily operations during the construction phase
- Plan and prepare construction schedules and monitor progress
- Prepare contracts and confidently negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements
- Review contract violations/contract additions or deletions with sub-contractors and prepare necessary documents to complete projects
- Understand and report job cost, profit and forecasting estimates to accounting and management; work with project administrators on billing and accounts receivable
- Act as client liaison and assist with business development
- Efficient deployment of resources - people and equipment - for projects
- Strong commitment to Health, Safety & Environment
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients - this is where your networking skills will come into play

**What we’re looking for**:

- Minimum 10 years of applied project management experience
- Experience leading a design-build project is an asset
- Experience with coordinating third-party utility company design and construction is an asset
- Experience working within a multi-disciplined design team is an asset
- Experience in working with subcontractors and vendors and managing schedules to meet deadlines
- Ability to prepare construction schedules, purchase orders and other documentation as needed
- Contract documentation, contract review and financial experience required
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking/problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of acceptable trade standards to obtain government approvals
- Use of computer software: MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite
- Currently registered or eligible to register with APEGBC or ASTTBC
- Team player with excellent project management skills with the ability to follow through to completion
- High personal, professional, and ethical standards
- A collaborative, proactive, and results-oriented approach
- Excellent relationship-building skills
- Valid driver’s license
- University degree or diploma in Engineering or Construction (or related field)
