**Job Title**:Purchasing associate - retail consumer goods and bulk food commodities (Import and Export).**

**Responsibilities**:

- ** Market Analysis and Supplier Identification**:

- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, pricing, and emerging products in the bulk food, agricultural, CPG and Grocery sectors.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and other key performance indicators.
- ** Negotiation and Contract Management**:

- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.
- ** Order Placement and Tracking (import)**:

- Generate purchase orders and manage the procurement process from order placement to delivery.
- Collaborate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate product deliveries.
- ** Quality Assurance**:

- Work closely with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain product quality standards.
- Address and resolve any quality issues with suppliers promptly.
- ** Cost Optimization**:

- Analyze costs and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising product quality.
- Implement strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce overall expenses.
- ** Collaboration and Communication**:

- Liaise with internal departments such as sales, marketing, and finance to understand their procurement needs.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with overall business objectives.
- ** Compliance and Risk Management**:

- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience (at least 5+ years) in purchasing - import/export, preferably within the bulk food, agriculture, CPG and Grocery industries.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain positive supplier relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of procurement software and tools.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

**Additional Details**:

- Competitive salary based on experience plus commission.
- On-site role with approximately 25% travel.
