- Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will lead obtaining multiple types of insights (consumer, industry, competitors, TD businesses and partners) and translate them into business optimization and innovation recommendations for all Life & Health businesses. These recommendations will have direct impact on the short-term and long-term business strategy, revenue, profitability and other P&L drivers.
- Facilitate Customer behavior measurement and assessment. Identify new customer targets and their needs including facilitating both primary and secondary research
- Enable continuous competitive monitoring via conducting research and analysis on overall industry trends and individual companies, leveraging both internal and external sources of information
- Lead developing specialized insights reporting presentations (competitive updates for investor relations, executive updates, etc.)
- Complete data deep dives and develop current business optimization recommendations to drive more revenue, higher profitability and other P&L related opportunities
- Demonstrate how our business can accelerate growth via new products, services, channels, and partnerships with the focus on how to win
- Assist with business cases and provide inputs for Life & Health strategy development
- Support TD's relationships with insights related vendors to manage user access, contract changes, facilitate ad-hoc requests, etc.
- Collaborate with multiple teams across TD within the insights space
- Represent L&H business in data related initiatives including advanced analytics
- Advance analytical, reporting, strategic and presentation capabilities of the immediate team, educate the broader TD Insurance team
- Contribute to building a high performing team with the highest employee engagement
**Job Requirements**
- 5-7 years of relevant post-secondary business experience
- Curious innovative and strategic thinker with entrepreneurial spirit who is not afraid to question the status quo, envision the future, focus on growth, and lead the thinking
- Advanced analytical skills including primary and secondary research experience with proven ability to absorb a lot of information including complex data, uncover key insights and translate them into business implications
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills to present complex information in a simple way including passion for creating effective presentations
Internal- Strong leadership skills - high-energy leader with demonstrated ability to impact and influence multiple stakeholders
- Must be capable of building positive relationships with individuals at all levels at TD and externally
- Demonstrated business and financial acumen including being comfortable with strategic and financial analysis in the financial and insurance sectors including P&L structure and drivers
- Self-starter and ability to work independently - project confidence and be able to operate without a lot of guidance to determine where value can best be added
- Manage change - can succeed in environments with significant ambiguity and constantly changing circumstances including multiple ad-hoc executive requests with tight deadlines
- Flexibility to adapt and manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to make tough choices given limited resources
- Previous consulting, product management, or corporate strategy experience would be a strong asset
- Previous experience in Insurance would be an asset
- Undergraduate degree in business or related field. MBA or equivalent preferred.
