**Family Well-Being Wutanm Support Worker**

**General Description**:
Under the Sipekne’katik Family Being Director and Program the role of the Sipekne’katik

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide family well being services to Sipekne’katik community members with supports information, and guidance.
- Design and implement assessment and individual/group counseling program, maintain confidential records, documentation, and data.
- Create community interest and awareness in family well being program which incorporate traditional and existing healthy relationship.
- Combination of knowledge in traditional and conventional family teaching models that is community based.
- Facilitate workshops for community members and program by using a holistic approach and encouragement in sharing circles and programs.
- Evaluate workshops and programs making sure that they are meeting the needs of participants and community.
- Create, maintain, and strengthen relationships with community members and resources.
- Work closely with band designate, police, social services, education, health, and other community supports.
- Maybe required to work after hours and some weekends for programs/events.
- Other related duties

**Qualifications**:

- Human Services diploma/degree or relevant work experience and training in community service will be accepted.
- Experience in facilitation skills and group presentations.
- Endorsement in various program development such as wellness, life skills, culturally appropriate activities, and knowledge of traditional values.
- Experience working in Mi'kmaw communities and knowledge of the Mi'kmaw ways on knowing and being.
- Experience with Medicine wheel, smudging, seven grandfather teachings and creating safe spaces to facilitated sharing circles.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Preference will be given to applicants who Mi’kmaw.
- Strong interpersonal, communicational, and conflict resolution skill.
- Criminal, Vulnerable and Child Abuse Record check required.
- Must be in good standing with child welfare for at least five years.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle.

**Salary Annually**: $ 55,000- $65,000
