The purpose of the position is to provide expertise to the Data Analytics team in the areas of nursing best practice, clinical workflows and Electronic Health Record (EHR) content. They represent Data Analytics providing support, guidance, education and assistance in the development of reports and dashboards, including workflow, data capture and data integrity. They understand how data is transformed into useable information and advocate for data-driven decision making in support of a performance management organization.

**Please Note: This position offers a hybrid work environment consisting of in-office and remote work. Office location is 500 Church St in Penetanguishene, ON.**

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Interprets and translates clinical practice and workflows as documented in the EHR for the Data Analytics team to ensure data insights are realized through review, evaluation and recommendations of data sources, data integrity and data flow in the development of reports, dashboards and automated alerts.
- Working closely with Professional Practice and Clinical Informatics, the Nursing Informatics Specialist reviews, provides feedback and makes recommendations on clinical changes proposed for the EHR taking into consideration impacts on existing reports and potential new reporting needs.
- Plays a pivotal role in the data quality, timeliness and accuracy of external submissions such as the Resident Assessment Instrument - mental Health (RAI-MH), Health Quality Ontario (HQO) Quality Standards, Alternate Level of Care (ALC), Integrated Decision Support (IDS), the Daily Bed Census, the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) and the Centre of Excellence and Ontario Health.
- Represents the nursing profession, the Data Analytics department, Waypoint and the Mental Health Cluster with professionalism and integrity. Models professional integrity by advocating for the utilization of data to support decision-making, performance management, and continuous quality improvement at committees and working groups.
- Provides direct client care in the event of diminished staffing, emergency situations, or as assigned by immediate supervisor.

**REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Province of Ontario with a current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Demonstrated knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing theory/practice and program workflows.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) principles
- Results-oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results
- Demonstrated leadership, conflict resolution, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to adapt readily to change
- Models and promotes core ethical practice, Waypoint Values (Caring, Respect, Accountability, Innovation), and reflects an optimistic and positive attitude
- You must meet the requirements of our COVID-19 Immunization Policy by providing proof of full vaccination, or a request and receipt of an accommodation under the Ontario Human Rights Code, including a medical exemption
