**Job Overview**

We are looking for a Finance & Accounting Lead who can help take our business to the next level. Dig into the numbers, understand what drives performance, bring this information to light so we can act on it. Look beyond the numbers to understand the story - work with the executive team and CEO to make the best possible decisions. In addition, the Finance and Accounting lead will work with the bookkeeper to oversee financial reporting and compliance activities. It’s a dynamic and challenging role, but one that offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact on an organization and an industry. You will have a seat at the table where decisions are made, and you will be expected to bring a financial perspective to the discussion. **Responsibilities**

**Finance: (40%)**
- Maintain & update **annual forecast mode**l for budgeting & planning purposes on a monthly basis
- Maintain & update **pricing and costing documents** for products on a quarterly basis
- Work with executive team to review **weekly cash flow** forecast to ensure cash flow is not overextended
- Perform **budget-to-actual analyses** on a monthly basis & provide insights into company performance from topline perspective & departmental perspective
- Participate in fundraising by preparing documents + packages for submission to various interested entities

**Accounting: (35%)**
- Oversee month-end close for 4 entities (3 in the USA) prepared by the bookkeeper:

- Review Bank & Credit card reconciliations
- Revenue Recognition
- COGS cut-off work/Inventory in Transit
- Review AR & AP reconciliations (as needed)
- Review sales tax reports
- Review customer Deposit & Undeposited funds reconciliation
- Proper treatment and reporting of intercompany transactions
- Work with Junior Accountant to review outstanding accounts payable & accounts receivable
- Maintain & update payment tracking files for main suppliers and ensure they are reconciled with the data within NetSuite
- Year-end review work to prepare for review + correspondence with auditors

**Operations & Administrative: (20%)**
- As needed, establish new processes based on business priorities and determine how they can be treated correctly financially (e.g. expanding to a new distribution channel)
- Manage the billing, fulfillment, receipts of incoming containers and maintain sheet for tracking open POs based on these statistics
- Reconcile Open POs with units shipped
- Ensure proper billing & reporting of all wholesale orders within NetSuite

**Compliance: (5%)**
- Ensure tax compliance with CRA, Province of BC & IRS along with 26 states where sales taxes are being collected
- File provincial sales tax reports in Canada
- Authorize payment of US sales taxes via Avalara software
- Prepare compliance documentation for the bank on a monthly/quarterly basis in a timely manner

**Requirements**:

- CPA/CFA
- Familiarity with Microsoft excel, Netsuite
- 1-3 years in a similar position or relevant work experience
- Knowledge of e-commerce business, considered an asset
