Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our organization into its next phase of growth and impact. The General Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and overall management of the charity. This leadership position requires a forward-thinking individual who is dedicated to our mission, possesses strong organizational and managerial skills, and can drive collaborative efforts to achieve our goals.

**Responsibilities**:
**1. Strategic Leadership**:

- Create and execute strategic plans to meet GNFK’s objectives and overarching mission
- Identify new opportunities and make independent decisions for the organization in line with the vision of the Board of Directors

**2. Operational Management**
- Oversee and optimize day-to-day operations at our new building in Vancouver, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in delivering programs and services
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls, policies, and procedures to uphold organizational standards
- Act as a bridge between the Board of Directors and volunteer coordinators

**3. Event Management**
- Assist in the planning and execution of key GNFK events including fundraisers
- Manage volunteer coordinators to ensure each event has the resources needed to be successful
- Attend and assist coordinators in the execution of each event
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a dedicated team of volunteers, fostering a collaborative and positive environment

**4. Financial Oversight**
- Manage the organization’s budget, financial resources, and fundraising efforts
- Provide regular operational and financial reports to the Board of Directors
- Track key trends and metrics including benchmarks related to our Langar food services, free meals, and food rescue programs

**5. Stakeholder Engagement**
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with donors, volunteers, partner organizations, and the community
- Represent the organization at events, conferences and meetings to enhance visibility and support
- Assist in the creation of marketing content to promote accomplishments and ensure transparency between the organization and the community

**6. Grant and Funding Applications**
- Regularly research new funding opportunities in line with GNFK’s goals

**Qualifications**:

- Strong understanding of charitable organizations, fundraising strategies, and program development
- Knowledge of current social issues such as poverty, homelessness, mental illness, addictions, etc.
- Strong understanding of the importance of cultural and community connections
- Proven experience in leadership or management positions
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Motivated and able to work with little guidance to achieve objectives
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
- Stays focused during tight deadlines and under pressure
- Demonstrates ability to partner and engage with other parties and perspectives including community partners, advocates, volunteers, local business owners, and community members

**Salary and Benefits**:

- Payment in lieu of benefits
