Stores Coordinator

The Stores Coordinator is responsible for ordering, receiving, cataloguing, and managing spare parts inventory and must ensure that adequate spare parts are on hand for routine repairs. This postion also manages maintenance of plant grounds, roads, snow clearing, lawn care, as required to maintain the property in a safe and attractive condition.
This position deals with suppliers, and Bunge Purchasing to purchase parts and equipment. Works with the Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Supervisor, purchasing, department supervisors, electricians, operators and contractors as required.
Core Functions:
- Manage stores and spare parts inventory.
- Work with plant management and Bunge corporate personnel as required on safety and environmental issues to ensure that Bunge Altona meets or exceeds regulatory requirements.
- Full knowledge of and compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Full knowledge of and compliance with related Good Manufacturing Practices(GMP).
- Assume a leading role in maintenance of plant grounds and roadways.
- Coordinate contractors and grounds crews to maintain roads and property.
- Maintain parts warehouse in clean and organized manner.
- Safe coordination of Stores department and grounds contractors, understand and comply with all safety rules and expectations.
- Understand and fully comply with all Food Safety requirements.
- Accurate and timely completion of assigned duties.
- Key contributor to operation of process departments with less than 2% unscheduled downtime.
- Effective reporting and record keeping as required by Bunge systems.
- Participate in the training of new maintenance and operations staff.
- Positive attitude towards duties and co-workers.
- Work with Reliability team to ensure essential parts are on hand for maintenance.
- Reliability to carry out duties and follow instructions.
- Other duties deemed necessary by Supervisor/Manager
Skill/Experience Requirements:
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience with mechanical process equipment, process automation systems, boilers, electrical distribution systems, plumbing and instrumentation.
- Ability to read and understand written manuals, blueprints, work orders, etc.
- Must have a keen interest in safety and a good safety record. Superior inter-personal skills, proven and demonstrated leadership and management skills within a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills.
- Must be competent in SAP or equivalent CMMS software to manage parts inventory.
- Must be available to be on-call to provide parts assistance after regular work hours.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to learn new procedures and participate in training.
**Experience**:
- Experience managing a parts department or similar inventory environment.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: industrial maintenance and repair, materials handling, inventory control.
- Experience in coordinating tasks with other personnel.
