Halal Slaughterperson

**Job description**

Beretta Farms/Canadian Premium Meats is looking for the right individual to join our production team at our Beef/Bison processing facility in Lacombe, AB.

**Position Summary**

**Tasks**
- Slaughter cattle, bison as prescribed by religious laws
- Perform humane and efficient animal slaughter according to halal standards and company policies.
- Understand safe Food Handling procedures and workplace Health & Safety.
- Willing to be working as part of a team, with excellent communication skills and be willing to help where required.
- Experience in a production environment is preferred.
- Positive attitude and passion for delivering quality product

**Experience and specialization**
- Practicing Muslim.
- Qualified and registered Halal Slaughterman, although full training can be given to those who meet the above criteria.
- At least 2 years of experience working in a slaughterhouse.
- Experience actively working on harvesting livestock.
- Strong understanding of halal meat production principles and practices.
- Ability to work efficiently and safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Strong work ethic and reliable.

**Wage**:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on experience

**Hours**:

- Monday to Friday; must be available between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm
- Shift timings may change from time to time based on business Requirements; therefore, flexibility in your schedule is a job requirement
