The Abbotsford Community School is looking for fun and motivated individuals to join their instructing team. We are looking for program instructors who will lead Dance Programs for children & youth. This posting is for a Dance Instructor.
What is a community school?
It is a designated school facility that is open beyond the traditional school schedule to offer a variety of community learning and recreational opportunities to people of all ages. Community schools are multi-service facilities working in partnership with other community agencies, organizations and individuals to improve the quality of life in the community. Our Community school will be running classes out of schools in Abbotsford and are such as but not limited to, Abbotsford Senior Secondary School, Abbotsford Middle School, Eugene Reimer Middle School, Chief Dan George Middle School, Dormick Park Elementary, Alexander Elementary School, Matsqui Elementary, Ross Elementary, Godson Elementary, Prince Charles Elementary, Clearbrook Elementary, Ten-Broeck Elementary, Terry Fox Elementary, Centennial Park Elementary, Harry Sayers Elementary, Dave Kandal Elementary and Auguston Elementary, and Aberdeen Elementary.

To enrich the lives of the people in our community by offering a wide range of cultural, recreational, and educational programs and opportunities.
We are currently hiring for an experienced Dance Instructor.
**Responsibilities**:
- Ability to teach using various dance styles and methodologies from a beginner to intermediate level.
- Develop and prepare a lesson plan for the 6 week program.
- Ability to communicate with a diverse group of students.
- Engage, encourage, and motivate students to reach their goals.
- Evaluate student performance and make recommendations for improvement.
- Choreograph routines and select music for recitals and end of program dance presentation.
- Conduct dance lessons for a group of 12 - 16 children
- Provide a fun and creative environment for children aged 5-14 years old.
- Be team minded and work well with others.
- Be able to work during the afternoons & evenings (2 hour shifts, 2:15pm - 4:15pm & 5:45pm - 7:45pm)
**Requirements**:
- Achieving a Bachelor's degree in dance, has a Bachelors degree in dance, or has multiple years of dance related experience.
- Previous teaching experience required (at least 1 year)
- 2 years of dance experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Energetic, driven, creative, and dependable.
- Demonstrate patience and leadership skills.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary
**Salary**: Ranging from $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
