Kinosoo Ridge

**Function**:
The Server & Bar Lead as a part of the food and beverage team, is responsible for front-of-house service, while working with the Chef/Line Cook to support the Food & Beverage Coordinator. This position is responsible for seasonal training and leading of cashiers, bartenders, service staff, and kitchen attendants, as well as daily operations of the staff and service areas.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the training of new seasonal hires.
- Direct and guide staff.
- Provide, maintain, and strive for overall best guest experience in service.
- Assist in POS transactions and operational procedures.
- Complete and serve food and beverage orders, including table service, as required.
- Handle cash and interact machines using a POS system as required.
- Oversee daily cash out and opening and closure procedures.
- Direct and assist with the cleanliness and sanitation of all self-service, dining areas, and bar.
- Assist in preparing menus according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Work with the Food & Beverage Coordinator to develop seasonal/banquet/specialty menus.
- Cost recipes and menus as required while following computerized standards.
- Assist with planning and setup for special events.
- Assist with weekly inventory and supplier ordering.
- Maintain food portion control and monitor wastage.
- Set up workstations and prepare ingredients as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Direct and assist staff with the production of salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and baked goods.
- Organize and store goods following FIFO.
- Operate, manage, maintain, and clean all equipment responsibly.
- Control, monitor and correctly manage food and equipment temperatures.
- Deliver the highest quality of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Follow and strictly abide by all regulatory and best practices for food handling and service.
- Perform other related duties within the scope of the position as required.

**Qualifications**:

- five to 10+ years food, beverage and hospitality experience is preferred.
- Customer service, supervisory, and cash handling experience is required.
- Background in hospitality will be considered an asset.
- ProServe is required.
- Mixology or bartending courses will be considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, time management and motivational skills.
- Must be able to work and lead in a team environment.
- Strong customer service skills with people of all levels.
- Basic food/beverage cost skills, required with ability to follow computerized standards.
- Background in baking and pastry arts will be considered an asset.
- Certificate or Diploma in Bartending, Sommelier, Baking & Pastry Arts, or Culinary Skills will be considered an asset. Food Safety is required.
- Must have proven working knowledge of drink and food preparation and presentations.
- Obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from Kinosoo Ridge Resort. A Class 5 license will be considered an asset.

**Working Conditions**:

- High customer volume; required to work with customers of all levels.
- May be required to work longer shifts, especially in high season.
- May be required to work weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
- Working around kitchen and concession equipment.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- May push, pull, or lift items weighing up to 50lbs.
