Bowen Island, Canada First Class Property Services Ltd. Full time

Are you ready to take your career in the eavestrough industry to the next level?

We are looking for an individual who is an ambitious, hard working problem solver, a self starter and willing to take on a key role with our rapidly growing small business. If you’re ready to be properly recognized and rewarded for your effort, skills, experience and long-term commitment then read on

Why is this a “game changing” opportunity and why First Class Property Services?
- We love the fact that we are a smaller, boutique company and can do things differently
- Current owner/operator of 15 years is looking to expand the business and focus on growing new service offerings so the door is wide open for quick progression from leading eavestrough and downspout installations and property maintenance jobs to getting trained on various supervisory and managerial tasks
- Your voice matters As a smaller, collaborative company your great ideas are welcomed and encouraged in a job environment where innovation and efficiency are encouraged and rewarded
- We believe our greatest strength is our people and by working together in a less formal top-down hierarchy, everyone can be seen and heard better and feel more empowered in their jobs and careers
- We are a progressive company with strong values around social and environmental sustainability and we prioritize staff mental, physical & psychological health & wellness as a key component of a successful workplace
- Flexible schedules available such as alternating Fridays off to encourage many three and four day weekends for optimal work life balance
- You are a reliable, hands-on hard worker who isn’t daunted by the physical nature of full days of outdoor work in varying weather conditions or working at height when needed.
- You can demonstrate a proven track record of being a self starter who is equally comfortable and motivated working independently or working with/leading a small crew
- You are a proven problem solver, someone who can take initiative and think outside the box when challenges arise
- Organised & detail oriented, you demonstrate pride of workmanship and a top notch effort in every project you take on.
- You can confidently call yourself a “handyperson” with a general familiarity, confidence and knowledge when it comes to trades work, renovations and home repairs. While we aren’t a general contracting or construction company, you feel at ease around many different small tools, measuring devices, small engines and more as we routinely have to solve problems outside of our normal scope.
- A background in any of the following trades is not required but would be a real asset: roofing, renovations, painting, scaffolding, window installations, carpentry, etc.
- Customer service focused, friendly and with great people skills, you are prepared to represent the company well at all times, on duty and off and build great relationships that are key to a successful family business in a small community
- You are a calm, level headed thinker, capable of making good, safe decisions with occasional time pressure and deadlines to meet and are able to mentally regroup and get projects back on track when unexpected obstacles crop up that challenge normal workflow
- Proven work history, reliable and punctual with solid employment references
- You share our zero-tolerance attitude when it comes to substance or alcohol in the workplace and believe strongly in a healthy, safe workplace where employees and customers from all backgrounds, genders/orientations and ethnicities are valued and respected
- In addition to the main job skills and experience listed here, having any of the following bonus skills and aptitudes would additionally be welcomed to help grow and enhance our company: business/entrepreneurial skills, social media savvy and marketing ideas, sales skills, recruitment, training and HR experience
