**Rate of Pay: $26.88 - $27.61**

**About the Position**

**Position Qualifications**
- Minimum of certificate from a recognized Personal Support Worker Program
- Recent Complex Continuing Care experience is required
- A demonstrated caring and positive attitude towards patients and families
- Co-operative working relationship with other members of the health care team
- Excellent attendance record
- Able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Current CPR certificate BCLS (C Level) required
- GPA preferred

**Position Duties and Responsibilities**
- Assist in the admission, transfer and discharge of patients
- Provide patient care including preventative skin care; hygiene, grooming and dressing; use and care of adaptive aids/prosthesis; elimination and toileting; nutrition; cognitive, emotional and social support to residents; infection control measures; restorative care.
- Collect and monitor patient information
- Demonstrated commitment to Patient Rights
- Maintain the safety and comfort of patients
- Participate in in-service education
- Provide for the general well being of patients
- Adherence to all health and safety policies, procedures and provisions and the recognition and reporting of unsafe hazards and work practices

**Hours of Work**

Must be available for all shifts and weekends.

Our area of focus provides a continuum of service throughout the life span of the people we serve including Emergency, Critical Care, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Medicine, Surgery, and Complex Continuing Care. Employing approximately 550 highly skilled and dedicated employees, Norfolk General Hospital continues to be a full service 106-bed hospital with round the clock on-call coverage of Specialists in Surgery, Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, and Obstetrics, as well as on-site 24 hour per day medical coverage.
