**Class 1 Driving Instructors & Air Brakes***

The commencement date for these positions is as soon as possible or as mutually agreed upon.

**The job duties and responsibilities of these positions will include (but not be limited to)**:

- To adhere to the Alberta Provincial MELT requirements for Class 1 training
- Provide classroom, behind-the-wheel training road and yard training, and Air Brakes to entry level truck operators.
- Conduct classroom training on Provincial rules and regulations, safe vehicle operation, and other topics related to the safe and effective operation of a Commercial Motor Vehicle.
- Track attendees and maintains training documentation based on regulations and company policy.
- Daily progress reports, overall grading and evaluations and course completion forms for each student.
- Responsible for daily pre-trip checks (may be done in conjunction with training) and to inform mechanics of any issues with the units.
- Follow proper training logs and modules.
- Provide ongoing mentorship to drivers while maintaining a positive, professional and approachable attitude.

**Requirements and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable driving experience.
- Valid Alberta Class 1 Drivers License with Air Brake (Q) endorsement required.
- Satisfactory Drivers Abstract required.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience with chaining up vehicles is considered an asset.
- Comfortable with adopting and learning new technologies.
- Must be able to work with a team as well as independently with mínimal supervision.
- Solid verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Must be able to perform physical duties of the position, this may include sitting/standing for extended periods of time and entering and exiting vehicles.
