Technical Publications Specialist

**Job Title: Technical Publications Specialist**

**Job Summary**:The Technical Publications Specialist is responsible for all aspects of creation and print sourcing of the Technical Publications required to support the sale, operation, and servicing of K-Hart Agricultural Equipment. The individual in this role is also responsible for the design and release of machine-installed information decals and is part of the team involved in safety reviews prior to product launch. The typical media that the Technical Publications Specialist is asked to develop and maintain are Operator Manuals, Service Manuals, Parts Manuals, Product Spec Sheets, Quick Start Guides, and other product support documents as required. To ensure the greatest possible quality in these documents, the person in this role is required to interact with all aspects of K-Hart’s team, including engineering, marketing, service and manufacturing staff on a regular basis.

**Responsibilities**:
**1. Product Launch Support**:

- Develop and maintain the templates used to create the key Tech Pubs Documents that K-Hart supplies customers and dealers
- Develop drafts of key documents and distribute them to key stakeholders for feedback prior to product release
- Work within tight timelines and with evolving designs to provide the necessary documentation for end users prior to product launch
- Work with CAD models to develop imagery for publications where no physical examples exist or where digital representations are more effective
- Design, prototype, and confirm conformance with standards for all information decals required by engineering to be installed on a machine
- Participate in product safety reviews to ensure compliance with hazard warning standards

**2. Current Product Support**
- Maintain all Technical Documents as engineering changes are released
- Work with Service to incorporate new information into parts and service documents as required
- Support Marketing, as needed, to create and maintain sales support documentation

**Qualifications**:

- Excellent English communication skills, written and oral
- Experience using document layout and publishing software, such as Microsoft Publisher
- Experience using image editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and bills of material
- Familiarity with document lifecycle management
- Experience working with commercial printers to finalize document design for production

**Skills and Knowledge**:

- Experience with engineering CAD software and the ability to manipulate models to create imagery for documentation
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, especially farm or heavy industrial equipment
- Understanding of safety requirements for farm equipment, including information decal design
