**Position Summary**

Working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment that takes ownership and pride of our IT infrastructure. You will work with team members to ensure that everything is running smoothly, and our customers are getting the service and support required. The position is expected to drive continuous improvement of our technologies and its use within the organization. As a Systems Specialist you will be responsible for resolving technical issues raised by staff, customer, partners over the phone or through the Helpdesk ticketing system.

This is an in-office position Monday to Friday with rotating evening/weekend cover on call coverage. Certain projects/events also lead to planned & unplanned afterhours work.

**Major Accountabilities and Responsibilities**
- Triage notifications from monitoring systems.
- Monitor systems as per policies and procedures.
- Assist our customers (patients and physicians) with specific technology issues.
- Troubleshoot issues - aiming to resolve most items, with an escalation path available when needed.
- Identify recurring issues and determine solutions.
- Raising challenging issues to vendor support, escalating as needed, ensuring timely resolution to complex problems.
- Asset procurement / inventory.
- Deploying and maintaining Office 365, including AFS, Azure components, and various integrations to meeting changing business needs.
- Managing a company wide VOIP phone system, including call center and faxing.
- Working with staff to identify and understand business processes, with a goal of continual improvement and optimization, including deployment of new technologies.
- Creating/reviewing/updating business cases, test plans, root cause analysis, and other such documentation.
- Identify recurring issues and executing solutions.
- Assist with handling Moves/Adds/Changes of users and equipment (desktops, laptops, phones, printers, scanners, medical equipment).
- Asset procurement / inventory.
- Creation of documentation and help guides, including instructional videos.
- Participating in a rotating on call schedule (one-week rotation).
- Other duties as assigned.

**Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge**
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of computer troubleshooting.
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of server and network technology.
- Experience with multiple data center environments and business continuity strategies/technologies.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Exhibit above average reasoning ability by clearly defining problems, analyzing data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
- Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies/tools/processes.

**Qualifications**
- Proficiency in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and PowerShell administration an asset.
- Intermediate understanding of server technology, as well as network topology and concepts (DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN).
- Familiarity with PACS and/or RIS (Radiology Information System) is desirable but not required.
- Desirable systems experience: Office 365, Interfaces, Virtual Fax, VOIP, PaloAlto/HP/Cisco Networks, Encryption, Scripting, Linux OS, MS-SQL, VM’s, MDM.
- Ability to do afterhours work, both on a planned and unplanned basis.
- Maintain information privacy and system security while fulfilling duties.
- Able to lift and move up to 50lbs.
- Familiarity with HL7, PACS, and RIS (Radiology Information System) is as asset.
- 5 years previous experience in a medium to large business IT environment and post secondary training in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or technical training/certifications.
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
- Successfully Complete Alberta Criminal Record check.
