We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Planner to join our Abbotsford facility. This is a key role within our production team.
**_Job Summary_**
The Production Planner manages the daily production plan in our poultry plant based on sales requirements in line with machine capacities, materials and manpower availability. We are looking to make improvements within every area of our business. The right applicant thrives on change, efficiency and improvements.
- **Key Responsibilities and Future Projects**:_
- Collaborates with the Plant Manager to establish reasonable inventory levels in order to meet customer demands
- Monitors finished goods inventory daily and keeps sales departments informed of changes
- Generates daily production quantity in production control
- Communicate with Plant Manager for special production requests
- Set up lead time for special order production
- Improve existing production control system
- Create standard production planning process
- Create forecast input data for ERP
- Daily review of departmental progress to plan and works with scheduling to make adjustment to meet objectives
- Submits daily hot list priorities to scheduling
**_Requirements_**
- Food processing experience is an asset
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) is an asset
- Relevant post secondary education in a suitable field
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Excellent English written & verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, with mínimal supervision
- Must be able to perform effectively in a fast paced environment; demonstrated track record of effective problem solving/decision making
