**Requirements**
- Machine license or equivalent combination of education and experience or completion of a mechanical engineering technician program in CNC machining.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in manufacturing, machine shop environment.
- Intermediate understanding of CNC programming and CNC machine controls.
- Knowledge of SPC methods, process and machine capability requirement and lot control techniques.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, surface finishes and tolerances.
- Inspects work in progress and upon completion for adherence to drawing specifications.
- Ability to verify dimensions of machined parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as: micrometers, verniers, height gauges, depth micrometer, thread gauges and other specialized instruments.
- Willing to learn and assist when necessary other engineering activities.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Positive work ethic, flexibility, curiosity, and initiative coupled with a passion for expanding skills.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Computer skills, including but not limited to the Microsoft suites including Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, SolidWorks etc.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM Software an asset. EdgeCAM, MasterCAM, etc.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to create productive relationships with various levels of staff.
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physically able to perform the essential duties of the position.

**Job Duties**
- Perform critical CNC Machine duties to produce high quality parts.
- Work with close tolerances and various materials for complex designs to perform the machining and finishing of components needed for production and prototype parts.
- Create programs to control the operation sequence and cycling of computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines which may include working with multiple machines, lathes, and machining centers.
- Program correct operational sequence, tooling change, axis movement, speeds and feeds, etc., developing programs from specifications, and blueprints.
- Use jigs, fixtures and other equipment in performance of duties.
- Modify CNC programs for lathes, milling machines and robots.
- Set up CNC lathes, milling machines, etc. based on process specifications.
- Examine “out of tolerance” conditions and make adjustments.
- Read and interpret CMM reports.
- Set up and maintain adjustable support tools.
- Predict tool wear and tool changes based on SPC data.
- Identify, select, and prepare tooling.
- Perform general maintenance and repair of hand tools, specialized tools, equipment and fixtures.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities to drive efficiency and cost savings.
- Responsible for first-off / sign-off from quality.
- Adjust program coding and tool offsets as need to maintain part quality.
- Work safety to prevent injuries and follow all safety guidelines.
- Based on required specifications, effectively operate assigned machinery to manufacture quality product.
- Set-up and operates machine to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Inspect all incoming and outgoing parts to and from machines, validating all finished parts meet the prints dimensionally.
- Complete all paperwork as required.
- Adjust production speed, machine settings to maximize production efficiency and minimize errors.
- Provide direct supervision to CNC operators in the absence of the supervisor.
- Train and assist operators with troubleshooting as needed and work in a team environment.
- Follows and complies with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in The Health and Safety, Quality and Environment programs (i.e., IATF 16949, ISO14001).
- Understands, promotes, and adheres to Court Holdings Strategic Framework philosophies.
- Assist the compliance to Ontario Health and Safety Act and Niagara Piston Inc.’s Supplier/Contractor/Environmental Health and Code of Conduct.
- Ensure compliance to the Ministry of the Environment Regulations and the NPI Environmental System and policies.
- Use or wear the protective equipment required by Niagara Piston and work in compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and the regulations.
- Report to his/her Leader or designate any contravention of the act, any known hazards, or defects in equipment.
