PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Network Operations Supervisor role aims at facilitating the sharing of information regarding operational train service day to day with customer in the Network Operations Center and Alstom Management and Supervisory teams on a real-time basis. The role is also the first point of contact in the coordination efforts for remedial planning and execution in managing service disruption, operational safety events and coordination of incident response. The role will also be first point of contact in reviewing and resolving all on time performance delay attribution on behalf of Alstom.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

Operational Safety and Train Service Provision:

- Coordinate communications in dealing with an operational safety event or incident.
- Work with all stakeholders in assisting service recovery.
- Keep Alstom Leadership team updated via Alstom Network Operations live reporting messaging function.
- Work with Alstom Operations and Crew Dispatchers resolving any crewing issues.
- Be the nominated person representing Alstom with regards to first line Train Operational advice, support and instruction to the MX NOC Controllers.

Train Performance:

- The Network Operations Supervisor takes an active role in delay attribution, correct root-causing events and capture of missed delays.
- The Network Operations Supervisor documents and escalates any delays associated with trains delayed 5minutes or more.
- It is the Network Operations Supervisors responsibility to work with the customer for delay code resolution.

Administration:

- Fully Maintain and send out the Daily Alstom NOC Log to all nominated stakeholders.
- Full use of the Alstom Network Operations live reporting messaging function.
- This position will take an active role in conference calls with Metrolinx and Alstom as required.
- The Network Operations Supervisor will escalate any un-resolved issues to the Alstom Network Operations Manager or Senior Manager in the NOC manager’s absence.
- The Network Operations Supervisor prepares any relevant reports as determined by the Network Operations Manager.

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Experience

Mandatory:

- Experience of minimum 5 years Railway or other Control type function experience
- Customer Service / facing experience

Desirable:

- Train operations experience
- Rule based operational experience
- Supervisory Skills and experience
